Outreach program
Our Outreach Program is designed to serve those in need and come alongside organizations already making a difference in our communities. We work primarily with Children’s Mercy, providing gift baskets for children staying in the hospital during Easter and Christmas bringing them comfort, joy, and a reminder that they are seen, loved, and cared for. We also partner with other nonprofits by providing the resources, support, and volunteers they need to continue doing God’s work. We believe the love of Christ is often revealed through the way we serve others. Jesus tells us, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father” (Matthew 5:16). Paul calls us “ambassadors for Christ” and reminds us that God makes His appeal through us (2 Corinthians 5:20). Sometimes, people may not know what God’s love looks like until someone chooses to show it to them. Sometimes all it takes is an open hand, a willing heart, or one person willing to show up for someone else to experience the love of Christ. Through Outreach, we want to be that helping hand serving our communities, supporting those doing God’s work, and creating opportunities for people to encounter Christ through the actions of His people.

Midwest Transplant Network!
At the Midwest Transplant Network’s Regional Conference at Children’s Mercy, I had the opportunity to share my testimony and tell the story behind Happy Disciples. I spoke about my own experience as a child at Children’s Mercy and how those experiences inspired the creation of our gift basket program. Sharing our mission in a room filled with people dedicated to supporting children and families was an incredible opportunity to show how a difficult season in my own life became a stepping stone for serving others. Happy Disciples exists to turn that experience into hope and a weapon against the enemy.

Christmas Gift basket receipts!
Every gift basket begins with a simple act of generosity. This photo captures the preparation behind our gift baskets for children staying at Children’s Mercy, including the receipts from purchasing the toys and items that would go into each basket. While the receipts may seem like a small part of the process, they represent the time, resources, and generosity that make each basket possible. Our goal is to fill every basket with items that bring comfort, joy, and distraction during an incredibly difficult season, reminding each child that they are seen, loved, and not alone.

Serve Day!
Serving others is one of the ways we can put our faith into action. During Serve Day, our small group partnered with Vineyard Church to serve at Harvesters, helping prepare and organize food for families in our community. It was a simple day of service, but it was a powerful reminder that when we come together with willing hearts and a desire to love others, we can make a meaningful difference.
